Trying petrol 95

Odometer: 1 427 km (+602)

This my third refuel and now I'm switching to allowed petrol 95 RON.
As always I come to Paz station in new industrial area in Netanya.

Real data
Refuel of 38.435 liters for 6.92 NIS per liter
And we got average fuel consumption: 6.38 l/100km or 15.67 km for 1 liter.

On-board computer data
Average fuel consumption: 6.2 l/100km
Distance driven: 602 km
Average speed: 45 km/h
Driving time: 13 hours 29 minutes

Paz 0.35 trick
As you may know, Paz offer discount for Shufersal card holders - 0.35 NIS per liter for petrol 95 and 98 (maybe for diesel fuel too).
But! They do discount from full-service price 7.27 NIS instead of 7.14 NIS for self-service even on stations without full-service :-) And I don't know if that legal.

1000 km milestone

Done first 1000 km. It was hard to keep engine below 3000 rpm/min and 100 km/h. Now I set speed limit alarm at 110 km/h. Next 500 km is final for engine run in.

We were in Yarkon park today for biking. There is a lot of space inside for two Dahon folding bikes. Rear seats folding so intuitive, thank you Skoda!

Bad windscreen washer desing

When you use windscreen washer on 100 km/h drops come into your car via front windows. Design issue?

First 500 km

First 500 are super important. No kidding.
It not just engine run but also tyres and brake system.

New tyres have to be "run in" since they do not offer optimal grip at first. You should take account of this fact for the first 500 kilometres and drive particularly carefully

Allow for the fact that new brake pads do not achieve their full braking efficiency until approximately 200 kilometres. New brake pads must be first "run in" before they develop their optimal friction force.

And I decided to do that in one-two days. Best time is Friday late evening and Saturday day when roads are almost empty and no road works. Keep revolutions counter below 2500 and set speed limit to 100 km/h.

I took route from Netanya to end of Ayalon (road 20) to Moshe Dayan interchange now directly to Haifa and back ;-) You can stop by Ben Gurion airport on road 412 (near Tsafriya) to see how planes arrives and goes to sky.

Don't try road 4 - vary bad and wavy after Tel Aviv to Ashdod.
Also, road 2 after Netanya to the North about 3 kilometers is very crapy, stay on left line if possible.

First petrol filling

After 181 kilometers, got my first filling.

I decide to use 98 petrol on first 1,500 kilometers of engine run. I read on forums that this engine is very sensitive to fuel quality and with 98 it feels better.

Found 98 octane at Paz station at new industrial zone in Netanya.
With 8.48 NIS per liter (with Shufersal discount) I took 39.760 liters.

Finnaly, I got my new Skoda

Today I took my 2 friends from work and we went to Skoda's service in Netanya in old industrial zone.

We waited for man named Alex to finish with prevoius customers that took new Skoda Octavia.
He took my new Fabia outside, weather was perfect - lot of sun. Brand new car, what can I tell? :-) He explained everything how to control, what inside, took us in. After about 30 minutes I saigned all papers. Turns out that 4 speakers were not installed. My dealer Stefan said that it should be 8: 2 front speakers and tweeters and rear pairs were missing. Still waiting for his call what we can do about that.

Overall inmression is very happy. Service garage in Netanya looks fine - that a good plus to Skoda too.

Fuel tank was one third full and mileage was 13 kilometers.
